π Project Vault Template
An Obsidian vault template designed to track tasks, meetings, and project notes.
It uses a Daily Notesβbased structure to help you:
- Track what tasks were completed on a specific date
- Automatically generate daily summaries
- Paste results into your project time management tool
π€ Who is this for?
- Best for self-managing your work on projects
- Intended for solo use only (not for team collaboration)

- Preconfigured plugins
- File and folder structures
- Saves time compared to starting with a blank vault
βοΈ Requirements
- Tested on Obsidian v1.9.13
- All plugins are already included in the template
(no need to install them separately)
π Getting Started
- Install Obsidian β Download here
- Download the latest release β Releases page
- In Obsidian:
- Click Open folder as vault
- Select the downloaded template folder
- Remove demo files:
- Daily notes
- Meetings
- Tasks (Specific + Uncategorized)
π Template Overview
π Absence
Folder contains three files:
- General holidays β list of public holidays
- Sick leaves β list of sick days
- Vacations β list of paid vacations
π You can change this structure if needed.
π Daily Notes
Each daily note has two sections:
- Tasks list
- Shows tasks grouped by project β folder β file
- Only tasks under a
To-Dosection with a scheduled date appear
- Summary
- Shows files containing tasks completed that day
- To exclude files, explicitly set the file's
showTasksInSummaryproperty tofalse
πΉ To-Do section
- Any file that contains a
To-Dosection will appear in the daily note/dashboard - You can freely create subfolders/files
πΉ Summary section
- Completed tasks automatically appear in the Summary
- Exclusions can be set in Project Vault Tools
π Meetings
Each meeting note has two sections:
- To-Do β meeting-related tasks
- Raw notes β notes you take during the meeting
π Notes
- Empty by default
- Add any subfolders/files to fit your project needs
π Resources
β οΈ Must-have folder β do not delete!
- Attachments β for images/audio dropped into notes
- Canvases β Obsidian Canvas files
- Excalidraw β Excalidraw sketches
- Templates β note templates (tasks, meetings, etc.)
π‘ Example: Add common tasks to the Task file template so every new task file already includes them.

- Specific β structured task files
- Uncategorized β tasks excluded from summaries
Default Task File Structure
Each To-Do section has three subsections:
- General β common tasks (tag with
#tasks/general) - Recurring β repeat tasks
- Other tasks β everything else
π‘ This helps fold/unfold recurring or general tasks and focus on specifics.
π Dashboard
Three sections:
- General tasks β tasks with
#tasks/general - Non-general tasks β all other tasks
- Raw notes β quick notes without structure

Dates
- Scheduled date is required for tasks to show up in daily notes
Recurrence
- Supports recurring tasks
- Completing one creates the next scheduled task automatically

- Reusable instruction/query blocks
- Update once β applies everywhere (daily notes + dashboard)
π Tips
- Keep tasks inside a
To-Dosection so they appear in dashboards/daily notes - Resources folder must not be deleted
- Other folders (Tasks, Notes, etc.) can be safely renamed
- Use templates to keep meeting/task notes consistent
- Fold General/Recurring subsections to stay focused
How to Install
- Download the ZIP or clone the repository
- Open the folder as a vault in Obsidian (File β Open Vault)
- Obsidian will prompt you to install required plugins
