#meta#vault-hub

Vault Hub is built for the Obsidian community by Maws7140. The process of finding existing snippets is a little wonky and undeveloped right now so now they're mostly cataloged here.

What You'll Find

  • CSS Snippets UI tweaks, layout changes, typography, color schemes, and more
  • Note Templates Dashboards, trackers, daily notes, project templates, kanban boards
  • Vault Templates Full vault setups for students, developers, writers, researchers, gamers, and more
  • Curated Plugins List A list of plugins that Obsidian community creators recommend enough to include in their vaults

How It Works

Everything on Vault Hub is pulled from GitHub. When you publish a resource, it creates a GitHub repo with the right topic tag: obsidian-vault-template, obsidian-css-snippet, obsidian-note-template, obsidian-dashboard. The indexer picks it up and lists it here.

You can discover new tools through categories and trending pages, and star your favorites directly on GitHub.

The Vision

Everything needs an ecosystem to survive. For Obsidian, that ecosystem has traditionally been defined by plugins, software that transforms the simple Markdown editor into genuinely whatever you can think of. But there's an obvious ecosystem that hasn't been fully cataloged or harnessed: the Vault itself.

Folder structures, CSS snippets, Dataview queries, plugin configurations, these things come together to create systems that people are customizing for specific purposes every day. The current way of sharing them is fragmented and hard to keep up with. That's what Vault Hub is for.

We're also entering a new era where Obsidian isn't just where you write; it's the context layer for your LLMs. Other platforms have seen commercial success partly through their template marketplaces, and I believe Obsidian is about to 10x this.

By formalizing how we share vaults, we aren't just helping people take better notes. We're solidifying Obsidian's place in this whole emerging landscape. And of course making it easier to share your rendition of Andrej Karpathy's LLM IDK I'm not in that deep lol.

Get Involved

The best way to contribute is to share your own resources. Got a CSS snippet that makes your vault look amazing? A template that changed your workflow? Publish it and help the community.
